Welcome to Rawls.net |
|
All of us in the Rawls family share President Bush's 'quiet unyielding anger' over the cowardly terrorist attack on the World Trade Center and Pentagon. If you would like to help, go here: It's the start of a new school year here and Ashley has joined the marching band. Click here to see her in her sharp new uniform. Emily and I are enjoying going to Ashley's high school football games and you can see Emily and her friend Ashley here. August brought a nice surprise when I got to go to the Brickyard 400... click here to see me in Gasoline Alley. So what else is new at Rawls.net? I've started to add to the genealogy section with some great links and a scattering of Rawls/Rall family history. Our branch of the family begins with Johannes Rall who arrived in Charleston, South Carolina in 1749. Thanks to some really marvelous work by Miriam Rawl down in South Carolina much has just recently been uncovered about Johannes Rall and his voyage to the New World. I'll be writing an update to the site shortly. Also new is the beginning of our tribute to those Confederate Prisoners of War who died at Chicago's Camp Douglas. I've finally managed to acquire a complete listing of their names for posting here soon. If you have a relative that you suspect may have died at Camp Douglas, drop me a line and I will check my source for you. Their story has been neglected far too long. Drop us a line with your suggestions. This web site established September 18, 1998 |
